    For Stir-Fry:

    • 1 block (14 oz / 400g) firm tofu, pressed and cubed
    • 2 cups broccoli florets
    • 1 cup snow peas, trimmed
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
    • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
    • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
    • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
    • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • Cooked rice or noodles for serving (optional)

    Cooking Instructions:

    1. Preparing Tofu:

    • Press the tofu to remove excess moisture: Wrap the tofu block in paper towels and place a heavy object (such as a plate or cast iron skillet) on top. Let it sit for 20-30 minutes, then cut into cubes.

    2. Stir-Frying Tofu:

    • Heat sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
    • Add the cubed tofu to the skillet and cook until golden and crispy on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

    3. Stir-Frying Vegetables:

    • In the same skillet, add a little more sesame oil if needed.
    • Add minced garlic and stir-fry for 1 minute until fragrant.
    • Add broccoli florets and snow peas to the skillet and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, or until vegetables are tender-crisp.

    4. Making Sesame Sauce:

    • In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey or maple syrup, sesame seeds, salt, and pepper.

    5. Combining Ingredients:

    • Return the cooked tofu to the skillet with the vegetables.
    • Pour the sesame sauce over the tofu and vegetables, stirring well to coat evenly.

    6. Serving:

    • Serve the Stir-Fried Sesame Tofu with Broccoli and Snow Peas hot, over cooked rice or noodles if desired.
