This Japanese-inspired recipe brings together succulent salmon fillets glazed in a sweet and savory teriyaki sauce, complemented by the crisp freshness of steamed broccoli.     Ingredients:

    For the Teriyaki Salmon:

    • 4 salmon fillets
    • 1/2 cup soy sauce
    • 1/4 cup mirin
    • 2 tablespoons sake (or dry white wine)
    • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
    • 1 tablespoon honey
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
    • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
    • Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish

    For the Steamed Broccoli:

    • 2 cups broccoli florets
    • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
    • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
    • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar

    Cooking Instructions:

    1. Preparing Teriyaki Sauce:

    • In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, mirin, sake, brown sugar, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create the teriyaki sauce.

    2. Marinating Salmon:

    • Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour half of the teriyaki sauce over them. Allow the salmon to marinate for at least 30 minutes.

    3. Cooking Salmon:

    • In a skillet or grill pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
    • Remove the salmon from the marinade and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until the salmon is cooked through and has a caramelized exterior.
    • Pour the remaining teriyaki sauce over the salmon during the last minute of cooking.

    4. Steaming Broccoli:

    • While the salmon is cooking, steam the broccoli. Place broccoli florets in a steamer basket over boiling water and steam for 3-5 minutes, or until tender-crisp.

    5. Seasoning Broccoli:

    • In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, and rice vinegar. Drizzle this mixture over the steamed broccoli.

    6. Serving:

    • Arrange the teriyaki salmon fillets on plates alongside the steamed broccoli.
    • Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
